The Magic Kingdom may be Walt Disney World’s oldest – and most popular – theme park, but the food offerings at the “Most Magical Place on Earth” leave a lot to be desired.
In the many years I’ve been visiting the Magic Kingdom, I’ve had a lot of meals at the Magic Kingdom, as has the rest of the DFB team. Over that time, we’ve tried table service, quick service, snack carts, and everything in between. Some things we’ve loved, and others, well…
Be Our Guest
Be Our Guest might be one of the most perplexing dining establishments at Walt Disney World. Thematically, it’s one of the most impressive spots at the resort, and certainly a must for Beauty and the Beast fans in that regard.
However, the restaurant’s food offerings have evolved a lot of the years, not often for the better, all while transitioning to an expensive prix fixe menu. Plus, the Beast doesn’t even appear anymore.
Tony’s Town Square
Tony’s Town Square isn’t terrible, but given its location — in Town Square, the first restaurant that guests see when they enter the Magic Kingdom — it should be better. Its Italian food menu Is basically Olive Garden-level offerings. Plus, the Lady and the Tramp theming is very light.
Pinocchio Village Haus
Two words: Vegan Pizza. While the overall quality of the quick service offerings at this Fantasyland restaurant has varied over the years — specifically, some of the seasonal offerings have been surprisingly good — the Plant-Based “Cheese” Pizza is not something we’re rushing to have again. It is great to have a plant-based pizza option for sure, we just wish it was a bit better.
Quick Service Burgers
Obviously, burgers are a go-to food offering for a reason, as they’re easy to grab and convenient to munch on in a theme park. However, the Magic Kingdom’s quick service burgers leave a lot to be desired overall. They’re often under-seasoned and usually dry in our experience.
We avoid these Magic Kingdom meals any chance we get. Stay tuned to DFB for more hot Disney World takes.

Crystal Palace. There are better character meals near MK with the monorail loop, and the food is “ok”. Honestly, I’d do even do a Royal Table Breakfast first even and that price tag tag is more.
I ate at Be Our Guest two weeks ago and the soup snd fish were excellent! The Beast appeared twice during my lunch. The enchanted rose wasn’t so great but the extra Grey stuff I received in a Mickey shape for my birthday was tasty.
Sci fi Dine in Theater at Hollywood studios used to be our favorite restaurant with steaks, ribs, etc. But they’ve switched to pretty much hamburgers only. Terrible food so we no longer go there or recommend it.
Ate at the crystal palace 4 years ago and the breakfast was excellent!!!
Character breakfast are soooooo very expensive. I will not able to afford those anymore. Crystal Palace.
So sad that the prices continue to go up faster than inflation but quality of food and park experiences go down. Not your father’s Disney!
Food at luau in Polynesian was great too bad it’s gone show was excellent also
I have never had a bad meal at Be Our Guest. Great food and see the Beast multiple times. I wish they would bring back the BOG breakfast. That was delicious and economical as well!
Not the Magic Kingdom but We love eating at Rose & Crown with one major exception, we learned the hard way to avoid the last seating. The Fish was fried so long or it sat under the heat lamps that it had petrified into a brown chunk of fish shaped rock that we could barely cut it with a knife and what little fish survived was horrible. On the back end our server noted the issues and made sure we were not charged for this abomination.
Shrimp scampi with a peroni at Tony’s is great. I love the location and that’s whst I am paying for.
(Not in park but everyone said you have to go)Chef Mickey. Food wise, very low quality buffet food. You meet a lot of characters. It felt rush.
We ate at fort wildness with snow white. It was fantastic.
Then the next day chef mickey was horrible. The chacerters were fun. But the food terrible would never go there again.
We will not eat at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café again. My kids didn’t like their chicken tenders and said the French fries needed some flavor. My husband got a burger and I got a grilled chicken sandwich everything was dry and had no flavor! Very disappointed for the price. Plus there was no entertainment on the Disney Jr stage inside the restaurant. Also, any empty tables, were dirty and we had to wipe off ourselves.
Only ate at Tony’s once. Never again. I liked Olive garden better
