2 NEW Disney Attractions Just Got One Step Closer to Opening in Avengers Campus!

We’ve got an exciting update from Avengers Campus in Disneyland Resort!

Avengers Campus opened in Disney California Adventure back on June 4th, 2021. The Marvel-themed land brought tons of attractions, dining, and entertainment to explore, but soon, there will be even MORE exciting things to check out! Disney previously announced plans to expand Avengers Campus, and the project just reached an exciting milestone!

The Avengers Campus expansion has officially gone vertical! Yesterday, Disney Imagineering shared an update that the first steel column has been lifted into place for the expansion.

When the new area is complete, it will double the size of Avengers Campus and bring two new attractions — Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab — to the superhero-themed land.

Mission Breakout

Disney has described Avengers Infinity Defense as, “Technology that allows the Avengers to jump between worlds has gone missing, and King Thanos is using it to wreak havoc everywhere. Recruits will travel to iconic locations like Asgard, Wakanda, and New York City alongside the likes of big and small heroes. You also just might find yourself face-to-face with King Thanos, too.”

Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark in the Stark Flight Lab attraction, in which guests will “sit in two-person pods and deploy to a test station. Then a robot arm grabs your pod and starts whirling you around in a simulated flight.”

Disney hasn’t yet announced an expected opening date for the expansion, but we’ll keep a close eye out for any updates now that the construction has officially gone vertical. Stay tuned to DFB for all the latest news from Avengers Campus and beyond!
