I lived in Texas for 10 years, and I visit Florida all of the time, so it’s safe to say I’m used to some HEAT.
The summers (and fall, if I’m being honest) can be absolutely brutal with triple-digit temperatures and heat advisories all of the time. To go to Disney World and live life in general, we have to find a way to cope, and here at DFB, we’ve tested tons of cooling items to see which ones are the best!
We love this Waist Fan!
Where has this been all my life?! I just discovered the magic of the AMKEN Waist Fan, and there’s no going back. It has three wind speeds depending on how much cooling you need. It’s great for everyday use, but it makes an amazing camping tool as it can act as an LED flashlight AND a power bank to charge your phone. What a tool!
Or, you can grab this Handheld Mini Fan!
We love it when we buy a new essential, and it takes up almost NO room in your purse or backpack. That’s exactly what happened when the DFB team tried out the JISULIFE Handheld Mini Fan! This thing folds down, making it easy to pack and can last anywhere from 12-19 hours, depending on the speed. There’s nothing like pulling this out while waiting in that brutal Slinky Dog Dash queue…
Don’t forget a Neck Fan!
Rather be hands-free? The JISULIFE Portable Neck Fan is for you! It can last up to 16 hours on a full charge, which can easily get you through a hot theme park day. It’s not as small as the handheld fan, but DFB reporters have found it fairly easy to pack!
And finally, these Cooling Towel will save the day
I am constantly recommending this 4-Pack of Cooling Towels on Amazon, and for good reason! All you have to do is soak it in water, wring it out, and then wear it around your neck. Unfortunately, we see people struggle with heat-related illness in Disney World, but an item like this can help bring your body temperature down. Plus, it’s reusable and it doesn’t need to be charged!
