We’ve got excellent news for you Disney World Annual Passholders out there (and as a passholder myself, I couldn’t be more excited)!
Disney had updated its Park Pass Reservation rules for Annual Passholders ahead of the debut of the new Disney Starlight Parade, requiring them to have a theme park reservation for Magic Kingdom at any time of day (including after 2 PM when it usually lifts). But, Disney has officially removed that requirement!
Heads up, Annual Passholders! Disney has ended the limited-time theme park reservation requirements for Magic Kingdom. Things have reverted back to how they were prior to this change. Annual Passholders can visit the theme parks without a park reservation on Good-to-Go Days or after 2 PM — except on Saturdays and Sundays at Magic Kingdom.
This change was implemented because Disney anticipated some serious crowds for the debut of the new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. But, now that some of the excitement has died off, Disney has lifted the requirement.
This new parade will take place at 9 PM and 11 PM, except on nights with specialty parades, such as Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Unlike other Magic Kingdom parades, this one will begin on Main Street and will end in Frontierland — usually it’s the opposite.
Disney Starlight will feature beloved characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios and Disney Pixar films, and some will be making their nighttime parade debut! As it begins, Disney Starlight will be “brought to life by the magic of the Blue Fairy” from the Disney animated classic, Pinocchio.
Parade viewers will see Disney characters from Walt Disney Animation Studios films such as Encanto, Frozen, and Peter Pan. (You’ll see Wendy, too!)
We’ll be on the lookout for more updates from Disney World and beyond. In the meantime, stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news and more!

I’ve been an annual pass-holder for more years than I can remember. I wish Disney would give those of us who are too far away, {I’m in Baltimore, MD}, who cannot get there on a whim, to get the magnets they offer throughout the summer. My usual trips are October and they never do anything special during that time. It would also be nice if those who live 500 or more miles away to get a bigger renewal discount. Next year may be the last year I purchase an annual pass or even plan anymore trips to Disney since it is becoming too expensive.
