BREAKING: Disney Announces NEW Experiences Coming to Hollywood Studios

Sorcerer’s Hat at Hollywood Studios

If you’re obsessed with Hollywood Studios like us, especially the original version, which focused on being an animation studio, we have big, big news for you.

In 2026, Star Wars: Launch Bay will be transformed into “a place where kids and kids at heart can laugh, draw, dream, and explore animated new experiences.” The top of the building has Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat (if you know, you know.)

Inside, you’ll be able to interact and explore this take on the Disney Animation headquarters. You’ll see portraits come alive before your eyes and “pencil in some time to learn to draw your very own character sketch.” Sounds like we won’t have to run to Animal Kingdom or wait till EPCOT Festival of the Arts to take a drawing class!

There will be the Drawn to Wonderland playground, featuring an “oversized flower garden with musical instruments, a Mad Tea party playset, and a Tugley Wood exploration area,” based on the original concept art of Alice in Wonderland by Mary Blair.

Disney also says there will be lots of Disney characters around the area! The whole area will be heavily inspired by the Walt Disney Studios Lot, with several buildings straight from Burbank. They also said that families will be able to take a break to “play, relax, or snack on tasty treats under lush trees.” They teased that “you never know who you might see playing in the branches, soaking up the sun, or digging in the grass.”

The Disney Jr. show is also getting a new makeover! The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure will still be there as well. Disney Jr. Play and Dance! will close on September 25, 2025, to make room for the transformation.
