We may be a food blog, but that doesn’t mean we sit around eating lobster thermidor and scallops every day. We’re normal people — we like the simple stuff, too! Chicken tenders? Yeah, we still eat ’em. Mickey-shaped snacks? They still bring us joy. Corn dog nuggets? Who said they’re just for kids?! Speaking of snacks that make us happy, we need to talk about our meal at Mama’s Snack Stop at Disney’s Aulani Resort.
Let’s head to the Snack Stop!
It’s no secret that the DFB team LOVES Corn Dog Nuggets, formally known as Mini Corn Dogs or Corn Dog Bites. There’s something about those little bundles of beef (and whatever else is in a hot dog) that really hits the spot when you’re on vacation. Now, we’ve been longtime fans of the Mini Corn Dogs at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom, but what if we told you that there’s ANOTHER place to get corn dog nuggs…and they might be even better.🫣
During our stay at Disney’s Aulani Resort, we ate a TON of great food. But in between those fancier meals, we had to grab a snack, and what better place to go than Mama’s Snack Stop? The menu is pretty basic — they’ve got a local take on Fish & Chips, an Ono Sandwich, Breaded Shrimp, and Chicken Fingers — and all entrees are priced at $18. If you want a lighter snack, you can pick up some Mozzarella Sticks, French Fries, and Corn Dog Nuggets, a.k.a. Mini corn Dog Bites.
If you know us, you also know that SAUCE is very important to our team. You can’t have a proper meal without a little dipping sauce, right?! This snack spot has a great mix of sauces.
We LOVE sauce around here!
Ultimately, we went with the Mini Corn Dog Bites, which are batter-wrapped mini beef franks with yellow and spicy mustard. You can get them for $12. For comparison, you can get Mini Corn Dogs with a choice of French Fries or a Cuties Mandarin at Magic Kingdom for $10.99, so these are definitely on the expensive side. Fries are NOT included at Aulani, either. That’ll be an extra $7.
Corn Dog Nuggets
Yes, these are not cheap. But the flavor? Impeccable. We thought that these were *better* than the ones served at Casey’s Corner in Magic Kingdom. Yes, really! The mini beef franks tasted like high-quality, meaty, well-flavored beef, and the cornmeal batter was slightly sweeter (just a touch!) than what we’re used to at Casey’s.
HEAVEN!
What did we learn here? They’re hiding the good stuff at Aulani! These corn dog nuggets surprised us — we were NOT expecting to enjoy them as much as we did. Who knew! This tiny, unassuming little snack spot is the place to go if you like corn dogs. Trust us.
