When you plan a trip to Disney World, one of the toughest decisions you have to make is where you’re going to eat. Here at DFB, we’ve got you covered. We like to try out all the different spots, so that we can make the decision of where to go easier for you!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
We recently stopped by the Nomad Lounge at Animal Kingdom, and now we’re letting you know if we think it’s worth a stop on your next trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth? Find out here!
Atmosphere
This spot is a little tucked away, which makes it a wonderful place to get away from the Disney crowds. It has been one of our favorite spots in Disney World since it opened in 2016! It’s attached to the popular restaurant Tiffins on Discovery Island.

Nomad Lounge
Nomad Lounge serves up speciality cocktails, small plates, tasty bites, and more at a budget-friendly cost! The lounge has some great and pretty vibes. You can sit at the bar, or outside on the covered patio.

Check out the outdoor seating
The patio will give you a great view of the Discovery River. Who knows, you may be lucky enough to see some characters passing by on the water! The area is just surrounded by nature, really immersing you into the Animal Kingdom — it’s beautiful!

Look at some of the scenery!
But enough about the restaurant — what’s on the menu here?!
Menu
The menu offers lots of small plates ranging from $10-$18…

…and speciality cocktails start at $15, with the Tropical Rainbow Cocktail sitting at $22.50!

There are many other drinks offered here including wins, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Now, let’s move onto the main event — the food!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Bangkok Chicken Wings for $16. This dish was crispy chicken wings with fish sauce caramel, peanuts, and cilantro. They were very good quality wings — they had a cripsy texture, while also being both tender and soft.

Bangkok Chicken Wings!
The wings were covered in peanuts, so if you don’t like peanuts, we probably would say this wouldn’t work for you. The peanut flavor was strong and noticeable. There were peppers that also came on the wings, but not very many.

These were good quality wings!
Everything on the wings complimented it well — the cilantro and the peanuts especially gave it a tasty flavor. We wouldn’t say this was anything crazy special, they are pretty much normal wings, but the quality was great. The only thing we would say is we don’t know if the 5 wings are worth $16.

Might be a little on the pricier side
We had to grab a sweet treat, so we went with the Churros for $10. It came with vanilla crema and seasonal sauce. These were an AMAZING treat! It’s a fan-favorite pick at the Nomad Lounge. When we were there, everyone around us was ordering them. Then they would leave, and the next group would order them.

Look at these Churros!
You get 5 churros for $10, which for Disney pricing is a great deal! Both the chocolate and vanilla dips that come with the churros were great.

They were sooooo good!
It definitely makes more sense to stop by Nomad Lounge and get this for $10, rather than one churro at the park for a little over $6!

We’re coming back for these!
We also got the Bread Service, which was a basket filled with Papadams — a crispy, chip-like bread made with lentils, Pao de Quiejo — cheesy bread, and Thai Red Curry Milk Bread. The sauces that came with the bread service was Coconut-Curry Sauce, Guava Sauce, and Ginger-Pear Chutney.

The bread service came with a variety of foods
The Thai Red Curry Milk Bread was pillowy soft and a great vehicle for the sauces. The cheesy bread was chewy and cheesy, and the Papadams were a softer chip that again made a great bite with any of the provided sauces.

It also came with sauces!
Let’s talk more about those sauces! The guava sauce is sweet and smooth — we especially enjoyed it on the milk bread. The coconut-curry sauce was spicier, and made a good topping for the Papadams, especially. The ginger-pear sauce was flavored with anise — a black licorice taste — so if you don’t enjoy anise, you may want to skip that one.
Drinks
To drink, we picked up the Leaping Lizard for $17.50. This is made with Malibu Pineapple Rum and leblon cachaça with orange, passion fruit, and mango juices.

The Leaping Lizard!
The Leaping Lizard was a great drink. It was a very fruity alcoholic drink, so you’ll like this if that’s your vibe. You could taste the pineapple juice very well, and the lime and rum gave it a little bit of a sour kick. You have to stir this really well to get all the flavors to mix into one. All in all, it tasted like an adult pineapple juice.

It tastes like spiked pineapple juice!
We couldn’t stop there, we had to get the Sinaloa Sangria for $15. It was a South American sangria made with susana balbo ‘crios’ rosé, barsol quebranta pisco, and fresh fruit. This was another fruity drink, with literally a ton of fresh fruit in it.

The Sangria!
It tasted like a normal sangria for the most part. You could taste the orange more so than the other fruits. As far as a sangria goes, this one was pretty top notch. There was pulp in the drink for anyone out there who gets bothered by pulp in their drink. All in all, it was a good sweet drink.

It was so fruity!
Nosh or Not
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- you want somewhere nice to relax. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a big park, and you spend a lot of time outside. This lounge is a great spot to relax and get a drink or a small bite. There is comfortable seating both inside and outside, with the outdoor seating have a pretty view of the water.
- you’re looking for tasty drinks. If you’re looking to get a tasty alcoholic drink at the park, this is the spot for you. Yes, other places serve alcohol at Animal Kingdom, but the variety you get here you won’t find anywhere else.
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- you’re really hungry! If you’re looking for a meal, there aren’t a lot of food options at this place. It’s more for small-bites and appetizers.
- you want something quicker. Even though this is a lounge, you may have to wait a little bit to get seated — the place can be busy at times. If you aren’t looking to use up any precious time during your park visit, there are quick service locations that could help you save that time.
Overall

Nomad Lounge!
Overall, we enjoyed our time at the Nomad Lounge and would 100% come back again (mostly for those churros, we haven’t stopped thinking about them). The place has good appetizers, but is definitely known for the drinks. It’s a nice chill spot to go to when at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Since Animal Kingdom has less rides and attractions, a day there can be more leisurely, and we love putting a relaxing stop at Nomad Lounge on our agenda!

Hi. I haven’t eaten at this lounge but I was wondering if you could tell me if the churros are similar in size to the original churros or are they small in diameter like the new version of churros. Thanks for any and all information.
