Aulani, Disney’s resort and spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii, offers a tropical island getaway with a hint of Disney magic!
While this is considered a Disney Vacation Club resort, anyone can stay here! You can choose to stay in DVC style as they offer Deluxe Studios, One Bedroom Villas, Two Bedroom Villas, and Three Bedroom Villas. There are also standard rooms along with suites. We recently went to visit this beautiful resort, and we are taking you along for a tour of a Standard Room with a Poolside Garden View!
Without further ado, let’s go on a room tour!
This room sleeps up to four guests, and we chose to stay in a room with two queen beds. There is also the option for a king-sized bed and queen-sized sofa sleeper. When you enter the room, you will see the closet and bathroom on either side of the hallway.
The closet has an iron and ironing board, a safe, flashlight, and extra linens. We found it odd that there were no robes in the closet, but the gift shop sold them.
The bathroom has multiple doors for privacy, as there is a separate area for the toilet.
The vanity has plenty of storage space.
The shower doubled as both a bathtub and shower.
There is a detachable shower head along with a rain shower head.
Just like at the Disney World hotels, Aulani offers shampoo, conditioner, and body wash on the wall. This brand is different than what is in the Disney World bathrooms.
The vanity also has bathroom products and a bar of soap.
Now let’s go down the hallway and check out the bedroom area!
As we mentioned before, our room configuration sleeps four and has two queen-sized beds.
Each of the beds is raised, which allows you to store your luggage under your bed, just like the beds aboard Disney Cruise Line! We found the beds to be so comfortable! There are two different types of pillow firmnesses on the bed, and the mattresses were very plush. We have stayed at every single Disney World hotel. In our professional experience, we have given Aulani the first-place medal for most comfortable Disney beds, even beating out DCL!
While it may not seem like too big of a deal, there is a clock on the nightstand. Most Disney World resorts did away with clocks, but Aulani still has one in the room, which is helpful if you are dealing with a time change!
The nightstand also has a lamp, paper, a pen, and a welcome note from housekeeping.
The room has a sitting area that has a square table with two chairs, which is excellent for having a meal in your room or to get some work done.
Our favorite detail is this adorable Mickey lamp! He is ready for a day at the beach with his surfboard and ukelele!
Next to the sitting area, you will find the dresser and a small coffee area. The room also has a flat-screen TV.
The dresser has a nice amount of drawer space and features a surprise in the middle.
There was also a fun Mickey towel, complete with a flower on the dresser, to welcome us to the resort!
The cabinet in the middle of the dresser is not for clothes storage, but instead is a hidden mini fridge!
Instead of a traditional coffee pot, the room comes with a Keurig and a selection of K-cups.
This storage area also has cold cups and an ice bucket. There are a few open shelves that can be great for storing snacks.
We stayed in a room with a Poolside Gardens View, and the view was amazing!
The balcony has a small square table and two chairs. We were able to see part of the pool area and plenty of greenery!
Well, there you have it, a full tour of a Standard Room with a Poolside Gardens View at Aulani! We are checking out everything that this tropical resort paradise has to offer, so make sure to continue to follow along with the Disney Food Blog!

Not bad. Actually looks a lot like the Polynesian resort before they trashed it.
