Disney has been updating their dining reservation system, and we are HERE for it!
They previously made updates to allow for more filters when searching for dining reservations, like wider areas, cuisine type, and character dining. They’re even letting you view multiple restaurants at a time for reservation times, and now it’s even easier to find a dining reservation.
UPDATE: After these most recent changes were rolled out on June 23rd, by June 24th, they were gone, and the website and app had reverted back to their previous versions. We’ll continue to keep an eye on this to see if the new updates come back — because we thought they were great!
We started to see some changes in early June, but now it seems they have rolled out to everyone…and we’ve spotted some new changes! Let’s check it out.
One new element we love is that you can view a date range for multiple restaurants at once! Do you want a sit-down dinner, but not picky where? This is a great way to see your options and choose the best one for your family.
You can view up to ten dates at a time! When it comes to choosing time frames, instead of the broad morning, afternoon, or dinner options, you can specifically select the time frames that work for you. This will make planning your day so much easier.
This is also great for discovering new restaurants! While we certainly have our favorites, some restaurants slide under the radar but end up being our new loves — sometimes we just need to be reminded about them!
When you’re looking at restaurant calendars, they’ll mark days with available reservations in green and indicate the full days with no color. We love being able to glance at a calendar and see what’s available.
The filters are also easier to find. Previously, it was tucked into the corner, but now it’s much easier to select your areas and define the type of reservation you’re looking for.
There also appears to be a new MyDisney Wallet system. If you already have your cards stored through Disney, you should still be able to choose it, but you’ll need to give Disney permission to use it through the MyDisney Wallet.
Recently, Disney added SO many more filters, and combined with these new updates, booking reservations is that much easier. While many restaurants have walk-up dining availability, booking a reservation in advance can help plan out your day and schedule when you’re going to take a break from the heat.
From character dining to meet all of your favorite Disney friends to a nice dinner to relax from the go, go, go of a theme park, reserved dining can really help take your Disney day to the next level.

If you’re in the UK you can still only book dining via the website. The app is pretty useless.
I think it is tremendous!
