We’ve finally gotten to step into EPCOT‘s newest lounge, GEO-82, and knew we had to run straight to you all to tell you everything!
GEO-82 is the park’s new Spaceship Earth-themed lounge that is only for guests 21+. We’ve been looking forward to checking it out all year long, and we just got a sneak peek at the new bites to eat and drinks you can grab!
There are a lot of different items on the menu here, so we highly recommend taking a look at everything beforehand to help you decide what you may want. Note that we visited the new lounge during a special preview, so some of the small plates might look a little different when you order them. The drink, though, will not change.
For food here, you can try the Chef’s Selection of Artisanal Cheeses, Cured Meats, and Accompaniments for $29…
…or if you’re in the mood for something larger, the Funghi Flatbread is made with roasted mushrooms, miso mascarpone, mozzarella, fontina, pickled red onion, and black garlic molasses. It’ll cost you $15. This had a miso glaze on it, which provided an excellent salty umami touch. What impressed us most was the crust! The crust had a fluffy dinner roll flavor while still retaining the crispy texture of pizza dough. We would 100% get this again!
The Cannellini Hummus is also available and is made with pumpkin seed pistou, radish, preserved lemon, Fresno peppers, and pappadam for $14. It might sound silly, but it pretty much tasted like cannellini beans. Normally, hummus has a bit more going on with it, but this literally just tasted like white cannellini beans. The standout of this was the toppings! It made the dish look very pretty, and it was tasty if you got a good bite with everything. The pita chips were a little thin, making it hard to pick up the hummus. The texture was great, but it was definitely hard to eat!
The Truffled Ahi Tuna is made with Japanese Whisky barrel-aged soy-truffle ponzu, citrus, scallion, tobiko, and black sesame seeds. Order it for $23.
Finally, we have the Jumbo Lump Crab Gâteau with smoked cheddar, pickled mustard seed-lemon vinaigrette, and supreme caviar for $25. This was a very good crab cake! It had a solid amount of caviar on top. The crab was tender with full, robust crab flavors. This wasn’t like a buttery comfort-food crab; this was like a fancy, elevated crab!
As for the drinks, we got to try the A Walk Through the Garden Mocktail, which will cost you $17. It’s described as a drink with Seedlip Garden 108 non-alcoholic spirit, basil, fennel, lemon, Hella Cocktail Co. orange bitters, The Bitter Truth celery bitters, and bubbles. We were very impressed with this — it was genuinely SO good! The mocktail features a house-made fennel and basil syrup. Those ingredients made it a savory(-ish) cocktail, but it still had sweetness. The flavors are savory, but the aftertaste is sweet! When it’s hot outside, this is our go-to drink to enjoy. It still feels like an adult drink — like a mocktail for an adult who doesn’t want to drink alcohol, but wants something a little more elevated than soda. We’d take this over some of the alcoholic cocktails to be completely honest!
We also grabbed the Electron cocktail for $23. It’s Siete Misterios Doba-Yej Mezcal, carrot, cinnamon, lime, Hella Cocktail Co. orange bitters, and pink peppercorn. This one was tasty — it was a balanced, fruity type of drink. The drink was quite peppercorn forward, and we actually heard some others mention that it was a little off-putting. For the most part, this was a fruity pink mezcal drink. The mezcal wasn’t particularly prominent, so if mezcal isn’t your thing, don’t let that deter you from trying this drink if you think it sounds tasty. People liked this one, but the peppercorn was a bit much.
Don’t forget the Brown Butter Old Fashioned! This one will run you a whopping $28 and features Spaceship Earth ice (!!!). The drink is made with Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon, brown butter, maple, and Hella Cocktail Co. Mexican chocolate bitters. How unique! This one was the clear winner of the night! Everyone was talking about this one — even people who claimed to not drink Old Fashioned cocktails really liked this drink. It tasted like brown butter with a heavy kick from the alcohol. It was so brown butter-y that you could feel the butter on your lips. Nice and smoooooth. It also has a Spaceship Earth ice cube, so this will be the standout drink! IT WAS SO GOOD!
The bartender takes a stamp and imprints this design on the ice. This had to be one of the highlights of the night!
The stars of the place are the drinks, and the food is here to complement the drinks! We can’t wait until this lounge officially opens to the public on June 4th, but be sure you grab your reservation well in advance, as we have a feeling some days will fill up fast. How astronomical – the prices, that is! The ingredients of the Old Fashioned cost ~$8, so Disney is adding $20 to let you sit and drink it?
