Summertime is officially right around the corner, and it’s time to get ready for your upcoming trip.
However, if you’re planning on spending a lot of time in Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, it’s important you know about a few closures happening in June that could impact your trip. Here are all the rides that will be closed in June 2025.
Magic Kingdom
Three attractions will be closed for the entire month of June — Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed in January this year to begin a year-long (at minimum) refurbishment. While we know it’s getting some TLC, Disney has also teased that some surprises may be underway, so we’re looking forward to riding the attraction again when it reopens in 2026.
Hall of Presidents has also been closed since the middle of January, as it often does after the United States new President is sworn into office. At this time, we haven’t heard about a potential reopening date for this Liberty Square show, but we’ll keep you updated.
Finally, Astro Orbiter has also been closed since the beginning of January for a refurbishment that has happened nearly entirely off-site.
However, we have seen a recent permit that could indicate the ride pieces will be moved back into the area soon, so we’re hoping to see the attraction reopen in July!
EPCOT
Meanwhile, over in EPCOT, the refurbishment and retheme of Test Track continues, but we have hope we’re reaching the end of this nearly year-long closure! This attraction closed on June 17th, 2024 for its makeover, and currently, our only reopening timeline is “Summer 2025.”
Now, keep in mind that we’re entering into the rainy season in Disney World, and many rides have unexpected closures throughout the day due to mechanical issues as well, so when you’re on vacation, have a Plan A, B, and C in mind in case your top attraction goes down.
