BIG CRUISE NEWS: Margaritaville at Sea Announces 3rd Cruise Ship

Big news in the cruise industry, everyone!

Margaritaville at Sea made its stake in the cruise world in 2022 with the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise. Since then, they’ve acquired a second ship, the Margaritaville at Sea Islander, but they’re not stopping there. They’ve just announced the purchase of their third ship, right on the third anniversary of the company’s inception!

Margaritaville at Sea has just announced the purchase of their third ship, the Costa Fortuna, which is currently operated by Costa Cruises. The company focuses on fun, laid-back getaways filled with escapism, and the company recently won Cruise Critic’s #1 Cruisers Choice Award and Newsweek 2025 Best Ship for Families, among several other awards.

This new ship will the largest in the fleet at 102,500 gross tons and accommodating approximately 3,450 passengers. The ship will have over 1,340 staterooms, 13 passenger decks, expansive outdoor spaces, and a soaring 8-story center atrium, and will be redesigned by the company to fit their existing brand and design.

When making the announcement, Christopher Ivy, Chief Executive Officer of Margaritaville at Sea said, “The launch of the Margaritaville at Sea Islander was a significant moment for our company, and the acquisition of the Costa Fortuna, our largest ship to date, gives us another exciting opportunity to bring even more fun and escapism to guests from a new homeport in 2026.”

You heard right, yes, a new homeport! We don’t know where it will be just yet, but we do know that Costa Cruises will continue to operate the ship as the Costa Fortuna until late next year, at which point, Margaritaville at Sea will take over.
