For years now, one of the best places for younger kiddos in Hollywood Studios has been Animation Courtyard.

This is where they’ll find the Disney Junior Play and Dance!, as well as meet and greets with some of their favorite Disney Junior pals like Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins, Pluto, and more. However, big changes are coming this summer for Disney’s Cool Kid Summer event, and we know that the Disney Junior Play and Dance! party would become temporarily unavailable, but now there’s another update — those popular meet and greets have MOVED.

When we checked the My Disney Experience app, we noticed that the meet and greets for Doc McStuffins, Fancy Nancy, and Vampirina have now MOVED — no longer are they in Animation Courtyard, they’re now meeting in Echo Lake.

What’s especially interesting about this is that these original meet and greet locations have decorations that are specially for these characters and their shows, so Disney’s choice to move these is a curious decision.

We headed over to meet Fancy Nancy, who was as bright and bubbly as ever, but it was a little strange not seeing her normal backdrop behind her!

Now, this could be temporary due to the Cool Kid Summer event, as the Get Animated show will take its place beginning May 27th, but right now, this is just a TEMPORARY change for the summer. However, it is important to note that back in March, Disney unexpectedly closed The Disney Junior Dance Party in Disneyland in March.

Does the moving of these characters and the summer replacement of the show (not to mention The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure moving into the area in a few short weeks) mean that another larger change could be on the way? We have no way of telling right now, but we’ll keep an eye on things and let you know.
