Southwest Airlines Announces NEW Sale with $49 Flights

Southwest Airlines has had some major changes lately, like changing its “bags fly free” policy and updating its open seating initiative. They’ve even helped make your Disney trip a little bit easier when check-out time comes. Now Southwest is back with more ways to save on travel this summer!

Southwest Airlines’ Wanna Get Away Sale is back for Summer 2025! This sale offers flights as low as $49 one way, which could save you big this summer.

This deal comes and goes pretty quickly, so grab your flights before this deal ends on April 17th, 2025. The Wanna Get Away Sale is valid for flights from April 29th, 2025, through August 27th, 2025, for U.S. Travel. U.S. travel to and from Hawaii and San Juan is valid from August 17th through October 3rd, 2025.

Flights on May 26th, Memorial Day, are blacked out from this deal! Flights also need to be booked at least 21 days in advance to qualify for the Wanna Get Away Sale. This sale returns in the wake of Southwest’s controversial decisions to end their open seating and “bags fly free” policies.

You’ll have to start paying for your bags for any flights booked on or after May 28th, 2025, so luckily that won’t impact the Wanna Get Away Sale! Southwest’s open seating policy isn’t ending until early 2026, so it also won’t impact the sale. Seats that will be assigned can begin being booked later in 2025.
