A Huge Southwest Airlines Deal Ends SOON But There’s A Catch

The company has ended its “bags fly free” policy, as well as ended its open seating option for flights, leaving some fans with mixed feelings about the airline. Southwest is now offering a deal that might have travelers forget all about the big changes happening, but it’s ending soon!

If you’re planning on traveling soon, this Southwest deal might be good for you to consider! Southwest is bringing back the Companion Pass which allows you to bring someone with you when you’re flying, for free!

Right now, you can earn a Companion Pass if you sign up for a Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card and spend $4,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of opening your account. Not only that, you’ll receive 30,000 bonus points with this same deal.

While getting a new credit card might not seem like a “deal” to many, the companion pass for Southwest can save you quite a bit of money if you’re a frequent traveler. The pass is good through February 28th, 2026, and only requires the second passenger to pay taxes and fees. Travelers with a Southwest Rapid Rewards card will also get additional perks like 3,000 anniversary points each year, 2 points for every dollar spent on Southwest purchases, 2 early bird check-ins a year, and more.

Customers with a credit card will also still receive one bag for free when flying, which can save you money over time. The card does require a $69 annual fee, so be aware of that before signing up. This deal ends tonight, March 31st, 2025!
