We have never met a piece of Disney food we weren’t willing to try at least once, and these new beignets at Disney Springs are no exception. When we spotted them make their debut at the beginning of March, we knew we needed to give them a try.
Plus, we had to see how these new beignets stacked up against other beignets we have tried in Disney World. Let’s head to Disney Springs to grab this snack.
We are headed over to The Smokehouse in Disney Springs to grab some House du Blues Beignets! These beignets are $14 and come with a Dulce de Leche and a Blackberry Compote Dip. You can also grab these beignets at the House of Blues Restaurant & Bar.
If you get them from The Smokehouse, they are served in a paper bag, so you can easily take them with you to wherever you would like to eat them. You also get a big boat and hand wipes for after. However, we think these guys taste best fresh, so we recommend grabbing a seat nearby to enjoy them! There are lots of tables and chairs in the courtyard of the House of Blues.
We couldn’t wait to dig in and see how these beignets stacked up. They sure look tasty! We would describe these beignets as a cross between croissants and beignets. The outside reminded us of a flaky and buttery croissant, while the inside was more doughy.
With your order, you got six beignets and two dipping sauces. The beignets are tasty—although not a “classic” beignet—but the dipping sauces take them to the next level! The Dulce de leche is creamy and reminds us of sweetened condensed milk. The Blackberry Compote was sweet with lots of blackberry flavor. While we wish the compote had a bit more tartness, we still enjoyed the dipping sauces. They also tasted delicious together!
Overall, we thought the beignets were tasty, but they are overpriced at $14. With just six beignets, you are paying more than $2 for each one, and they aren’t huge either. For comparison, you can head over to Disney’s Port Orleans — French Quarter and get six Mickey-shaped Beignets for $12.99, which are much bigger than these beignets. Plus, we think the beignets from Port Orleans are closer to a classic beignet.
So, while we wouldn’t say these are a must-grab in Disney Springs, if you are feeling a hankerin’ for croissant-like beignets or don’t want to travel all the way to Port Orleans—French Quarter — these beignets could be a good option. However, they are currently only expected to be available through the end of March.
