If you know what we mean when we say FRUSHI, then you’re already a fan of this booth at the 2025 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival!
We’re of course talking about Hanami, a classic and fan-favorite booth at the Festival. It’s time to find out if this year’s menu is worth a stop on your springtime culinary trip around EPCOT! Let’s go!
Menu
Over at the Hanami, you’ll find a solid lineup of returning items and a slew of new drinks!
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, let’s dig into some noodles with the Ramen Cup for $8.50.
This item made its debut last year and was not the ramen you ate in college! It was a Ramen salad shaken in a cup with fresh vegetables, grilled chicken, and dashi broth with chili oil and yuzu. We LOVED it last year and are excited to see what it’s like now!
Unfortantly, this year, we were let down. The broth this year was not flavorful, and the noodles were a bit overcooked. It felt like nothing really worked. The chicken reminded us of chicken that you would buy in a bag that is already pre-cooked. It just tasted kind of fake and chewy.
Next up, another returning dish! Yep, we’re grabbing the Frushi for $6.50.

Frushi: Strawberry, pineapple, and honeydew wrapped in coconut rice and tri-color soy wrap served with coconut cream sauce and toasted coconut
This “fruit sushi” is made with Strawberry, Pineapple, and Cantaloupe wrapped in Sweet Rice and Pink Soy Wrap served with Whipped Cream, Drizzled Berry Sauce, and Toasted Coconut. This is a super popular festival item and a favorite for the kiddos and folks who just love the simple joy of fruit.
We are happy to report that unlike the ramen, the Frushi was amazing! It is so flavorful, creative, and tasty. You can really taste all the fruits, and the pineapple was so juicy and fresh. This was by far our favorite item from this booth!
Are you ready for something new? This next item is NEW and is definitely coloring outside the lines, but we’re HERE for it! Let’s dive into the Takoyaki for $7.75.
Curious about what Takoyaki is? Well, it is Octopus tako balls served with spicy mayo, okonomiyaki sauce, and crunch rice pearls. Wow, but now for the real question: How does it taste?!
When we got ours, it was sitting out for a bit, so we felt like we missed out on the whole experience. It was a bit weird, but it was nice and fresh and had a bit of crispiness. It was warm on the inside, and the flavors tasted different from the Takoyaki that we have had in the past. We would not recommend this to someone who is sensitive to textures because it is very chewy. We liked the spicy mayo and sweet sauce as they gave it a nice, savory, and sweet moment. Overall, it was good.
Returning this year is the Steam Bun that was new last year, but is back for 2025. It’s filled with vegetables and plant-based soy meat and is priced at $8.50.
The Steam Bun is filled with veggies and plant-based soy meat, but it isn’t listed on the Garden Graze list in Festival Passport, so this dish may not be 100% plant-based.
Drinks
Hanami is bringing it in terms of drinks on the menu. There are THREE new beverages to try this year and we can’t wait to sip and review each of them!
First up, we got Kyoto Boba for $6.75. This is a non-alcoholic beverage described as crafted kyoho (Japanese black grape) juice with strawberry popping boba. Is it wrong that we hope that this drink tastes like combining both the strawberry and grape-flavored Nerds in a giant, sugary mouthful? Well, let’s find out!
This drink was good and had a light fruitiness, but it was nothing spectacular. The boba was nice—like your typical popping boba — and it added a lot of flavor. While we hoped this drink would be an aesthetic one, you can’t really tell that there is boba since the color of the drink is the same color as the boba.
Now, on to some cocktails! So, let’s check out the Shogun Sangria for $7.75. This one has us scratching our heads. When we think of Sangria, we tend to think of Italy and Spain — not Japan. But we’re all for inclusivity here at DFB, and if the Japanese want to get in on the Sangria action, we support them! This is a Sake cocktail with a combination of citrus and white cranberry juice. Is it truly a “sangria”? Or is it just fruity sake? Let’s find out!
The sangria was very good. It had a nice sparkliness to it, along with a nice bright flavor. It was really refreshing.
If you’re not feeling the sangria, you can get the straight-up sake choice, the Strawberry Nigori Sake, for $9.75. This is Nigori cloudy sake with strawberry spring notes.
This was SO GOOD. Usually, when we go around trying all the booths on the first day of a festival, we struggle to finish our drinks, but it was so good. And we were not alone, as so many people were talking about it. It was not too heavy, but it had a strong alcoholic taste—that is just the way sake is made. It was delicious and refreshing. We can’t rave about it enough, so we had to add it to our Best of the Fest list!
OVERALL
Overall, the food at this booth fell a bit short for us this year. We were really looking forward to the Ramen Cup but were let down. On the bright side, we would return for the Frushi, and we think it is a fun way for those who may not like traditional sushi to eat a sweeter and fruity kind of sushi! The real stars here are the drinks, especially the Strawberry Nigori Sake. We will 100% be returning to grab a cocktail here, as they were really refreshing.
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
