Love is in the air and we’re celebrating the best way we know how — with FOOD, of course!

A ton of limited-time eats and treats have arrived at Disney World for Valentine’s Day, so we’re checking them out one by one, starting with a new — and quite possibly the most adorable — petit cake from Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs. Let’s see if this dessert tastes as good as it looks!

We headed on over to Amorette’s Patisserie to try the new Carl & Ellie Petit Cake for $22. This pricey little guy is a vanilla chiffon cake soaked with Chambord simple syrup, white chocolate mousse, and white chocolate crispy pearls — and we seriously can’t get over how adorable this is. It’s almost too cute to eat! Almost.

As strikingly beautiful as this petit cake is, it is one of the meltiest ones that we’ve ever had at Amorette’s! The fondant and icing really wanted to melt all over the place, but we kept things under control. When it came to taste, though, we weren’t huge fans of this one. While we really appreciated what they were going for — something a little bit classier and fancier since it’s for Valentine’s Day. It does have that vanilla chiffon, which is fun, with layers of icing in between. You can taste those fresh white chocolate crisp pearls that actually taste like white chocolate. You can definitely taste that raspberry flavor from the Chambord simple syrup.

Oh man

The white chocolate mousse was a little too sweet — honestly, this entire dessert was a bit too sweet. Texture-wise, we really enjoyed this as it wasn’t dry at all — the simple syrup helped to keep everything together without being too moist. If you’re averse to fondant, you probably won’t love this as the entire outside is wrapped in it. It can be gummy and relatively flavorless, and other than being adorable, we don’t think it adds much to this dessert.

We’re big fans

While this one is SO cute, we can’t say it’s our favorite petit cake we’ve had from Amorette’s at Disney Springs! There are plenty of other delicious eats at this spot — you can see some of our favorites here.
