We’re all in favor of Disney getting a little spooky, but it’s better when our food and drinks don’t scare us.
The Disney Cruise Line got a little bit bigger last when the Disney Treasure joined its fleet. We took a voyage on the brand-new ship, getting a good look at everything the ship has to offer, including the highly-anticipated Haunted Mansion Parlor. While we were impressed by the design of the new lounge, we’re sad to say the drinks left something to be desired.
The Haunted Mansion Parlor is inspired by the Haunted Mansion theme park attractions and immerses “guests in the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga, bringing this fan-favorite lore to life in a whole new way. The one-of-a-kind experience will be a swinging wake unlike any other, that of a jovial captain who entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé,” according to Disney. While we definitely felt immersed, our enjoyment of the new lounge was limited.

Aboard the Disney Treasure, the Haunted Mansion Parlor honors more than five decades of fandom and introduces the world to the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga. Guests will enjoy spooktacular, specialty cocktails themed to the classic Disney Parks attraction and its inhabitants, as well as a variety of Haunted Mansion details from around the world. We tried MANY of the lounge’s offerings, and while they were mostly pretty, there were some taste issues. For example, the Happily Never After, which is made with Grey Goose, Chambord, lemon, apple, and black cherry for $15, had some problems.
There’s plenty of Chambord and blackberry in taste, and we thought it had a nice sweetness. With that said, ours was missing a lemon flavor and we really didn’t get any of the hints of apple, as the raspberry in the Chambord was a thick and syrupy. The balancing was off, otherwise this would’ve scored higher with us.
Fortunately, the next drink we tried was a winner! The Final Vow is made with Código Artesanal Mezcal, amaretto, strawberry, mango, lime, and hot sauce. It can even be served in a souvenir Captain’s Bride ceramic tiki mug for $50, although we opted for just a regular serving.
Despite featuring some odd things (hot sauce?!), we were really taken with this drink! Ours was akin to something like a bloody mary mixed with strawberry jello and we were impressed with how much body it had. The drink was perfectly smokey and the heat wasn’t overbearing, making this our favorite drink during our visit.
Up next was The Last Catch which was also served in a tiki mug for a whopping $60. This drink is made with Old Forester Statesman, Monin Rose, mango, marigold, lime, and pineapple.
The Last Catch is another beverage we recommend. More balanced than some of the others we tried without being overly sweet, we felt the drink was smooth and the bourbon flavor was incredibly subtle. While the floral flavors weren’t as prevalent as we would’ve liked, the fruity flavor stands out and we were left satisfied.
Tailing off a bit was the Regions Beyond for $15. This cocktail is made with Absolut raspberry, blue curacao, bubble gum, cream, and black cherry.
It’s fine, but the blue curacao was way too heavy while the raspberry and black cherry flavors were too much in our face. Again, this is another example of a Haunted Mansion Parlor drink that has the right ingredients, but the execution was a bit offputting.
Haunted Mansion Parlor features a secret menu item for two that can be seen once you solve a puzzle!
Once you solve the word challenge puzzle, you’ll see The Spirits Have Been Released for $30. This secret menu item is made with St. George Gin, Screaming Soda, blackberry, and blueberry on one side, while the other has Five Trail Blended Whisky with sour shivers lemonade and orange.
Unfortunately, we hated this. Both drinks tasted odd, and the gin-based one had a really bad sickly sweet and florally cupcake flavor. The other side gave us bad licorice vibes. Some folks may like this concoction, but we aren’t one of them.
The lounge also offers some Zero Proof options as well as mocktails, such as the Sympathetic Vibrations for $15. This drink has Zero-Proof Lyre’s Agave Blanco, Lyre’s Orange Sec, blood orange, cherry sour, and lime salt foam.
This actually might have been one of our favorite drinks on the entire ship! We were big fans of the fruity and tart undertones, making this slightly sour zero-proof cocktail a definite recommendation.
The Ghostly Retreat is made with creepy crawly cola, grenadine, black cherry, and eyeball gummies for $8 and comes with a glow cube.
The gummy eyeball is fun, but, ultimately, this is just a cherry cola with a Coke Zero taste.
The Ghoulish Delight is up next and it is made with ube condensed milk, oat milk, tapioca pearl, ube wanderdust shimmer, and an eyeball gummy for $7.50.
This is another drink we recommend. Ours had a super heavy ube flavor of vanilla and nuttiness, so we recommend mixing the syrup for a light and creamy taste.
You can also grab a soda for $5, such as the Grim Grinning Grape. This one in particular is a skip, in our opinion. Ours tasted super artificial and was flat. The Screaming Soda was somehow worse, tasting like overly sweet cake batter. The Creepy Crawly Cola reminded us of Coke Zero or a zero sugar drink, so it is another pass for us.
Lastly, our drink tour ended in disappointment with the Sour Shivers Lemonade for $5. This lemonade was incredibly syrupy and too sweet, negating the refreshness of what a lemonade should be. These four drinks all look fun, but we’re sad they didn’t have the taste to match.
Again, we reiterate that the lounge’s atmosphere is incredible and there are some drinks here worth your time. We just hope the overall quality improves over time.
