New booth, who dis? We’re stoked every time we see a new booth make an appearance at an EPCOT festival!
We’re live at the 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Arts, checking out the food studios, artistic performances, merchandise, and more. There’s a LOT going on, but don’t let it overwhelm you. We’re here to tell you everything you need to know before your visit. Let’s go to Fictional Victuals to try some returning snacks and a bunch of NEW drinks!
Menu
Over at the Fictional Victuals, you’ll find a variety of available creative items that all feel like they’ve been pulled from the pages of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s batten down the hatches and dive, dive, DIVE …. into the food, that is.
Eats
First up, we grabbed Squid Ink Pasta for $7.75. This dish comes with lump crab, truffle cream, and shaved truffle. This isn’t our first squid ink culinary adventure, in fact, we had some just a few months ago at the Spain Food Booth during the 2024 Food & Wine Festival. And we liked the Paella Negra made with Squid ink rice so much that it made our Best of the Fest. So, can the Squid Ink Pasta carry on that torch?
The answer is YES. It surprised us because it tastes like regular pasta with truffles, but there is a briny aftertaste, so you’ll want to be prepared for that. But we loved this and we heard a lot of people raving about this dish.
Next up, we grabbed Charred Octopus for $7.75. This dish comes with rushed fingerling potatoes, kalamata olives, capers, and romesco sauce. And again, this is not our first introduction to an octopod on our plate and we’ve had mixed reviews. We’ve enjoyed a similar dish over at Amare in the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve. But when we had it as part of a cocktail for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration at Be Our Guest, we were less than impressed. So, how does this new booth offering hold up?
This was another surprise, but it wasn’t our favorite thing. However, there is a hint of spice to the sauce on the back end, but it’s not SUPER strong. This has a really good flavor, and if you want to try something unique, here’s your chance.
And now for some dessert! Luckily this is less ocean-flavored, and just has more of an aquatic aesthetic. Let’s check out the Black Cocoa Brownie for $6.50. This sweet treat comes with ube ice cream, coral tuile, and sponge cake. We loved the presentation, but it melts SO fast.
Still, we wanted more of that ube ice cream with it. The brownie and sponge cake are standard and it gets soft over time as it soaks up the ice cream. But you still get a little bit of the crustier edges of the brownie, too.
Drinks
The drink menu is also all new and some options still carry on a bit of that nautical theme.
First up, we got the Butterscotch Milkshake for $5. This sweet drink comes with a fun Chocolate Garnish. This is a solidly fantastic milkshake — we could drink FIVE of these in one sitting. It’s got a wonderful butterscotch flavor, and we appreciate the chocolate garnishment.
And finally, we grabbed the nautically themed cocktail, Boyd & Blair Outis Fathom for $12. This cocktail is made with Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Juniper, and Boyd & Blair Vodka. It’s such a nice drink, almost like a mix between a vodka-y wine. We plan on ordering this again.
You can also get 3 Daughters Brewing Barrel Aged Cognac Porter for $5.75 for 6 ounces and $9.75 for 12 ounces. This is a Porter beer that is barrel-aged in a Cognac barrel.
OVERALL
So this booth is definitely for those who aren’t picky eaters, but if you’re looking to try something unique, both food offerings here fit the bill, although we’d recommend the Squid Ink Pasta over the Charred Octopus. The milkshake here, though, is a great sweet treat.
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
