We’re making a stop at EPCOT’s Germany Pavilion to check out the Pastoral Palate Food Studio at the 2025 EPCOT Festival of the Arts!
Bavarian cuisine is the name of the game at Pastoral Palate, one of the Festival’s Food Studios (also known as Food Booths). And as we’re bringing you our complete reviews of EVERY single Food Booth at the Festival, it’s time to have a bite (or three) and raise a glass of Rosé here in the Germany Pavilion!
Menu
There is a new dish on the menu here at Pastoral Palate, and that’s the Pork and White Bean Cassoulet. It’s joined by two returning items: the Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib and the Black Forest Cake.

2025 Menu
To drink, you can choose from 3 Daughters Brewing Rosé Hard Cider, 81Bay Brewing Co. Rosé Blonde Ale, and the Frozen Rosé. You can also try all three with the A Play on Rosé Flight! Marietta Old Vine Rosé is also available.
Okay, Pastoral Palate… let’s see what you’ve got!
Pastoral Palate is our next booth!

Eats
The Pork and White Bean Cassoulet is plated with Regensburger Sausage and crispy pork rinds. This new dish costs $7. This dish is a very thick chili that is heavy on the beans. It was supposed to have crispy pork rinds, but we didn’t think there was anything crispy about this dish at all.

Pork and White Bean Cassoulet
We definitely wish there were more crispiness or texture to the cassoulet. Overall, this dish was super mushy and really one note. There were only two pieces of sausage, and they were kind of hard and just not super tasty. There wasn’t a lot of complexity to this dish, and we likely wouldn’t return for this dish.

Pork and White Bean Cassoulet
Year after year, we look forward to trying the Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib with parsnip purée, broccolini, baby tomatoes, and balsamic glaze.
Coming in at $8.75, it rarely disappoints. The beef short rib is so tender you can cut it like butter. It has amazing flavor that is only accented by the savory sauce, hearty veggies, and creamy mashed potatoes. If you’ve loved the beef at the Canada pavilion during the Food and Wine Festival, this one is a top competitor. It’s seriously delicious.
Aaah, the lovely Black Forest Cake is back again, too. It features chocolate mousse with morello cherries and chantilly cream. It costs $5.

Black Forest Cake
We were thrilled with this dessert when it made its debut last year. We really enjoyed this dessert again this year. The acidity of the cherries combined with the chantilly cream and chocolate was wonderful.

Black Forest Cake
The chantilly cream on top was heavenly. It was still cold and the temperature difference between it and the warmer filling made this dessert that much better. The chocolate mousse was light and airy. It is hard to go wrong with the combination of chocolate and cherry, and this dessert is tasty!
Drinks
When it comes to the beverage selection, Pastoral Palate’s M.O. this year is, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…” But we’re not complaining, honestly, because it gives us another chance to indulge in the A Play on Rosé Flight for $11.50.
This flight consists of the 3 Daughters Brewing Rosé Hard Cider (which is also available for individual purchase as a 6 ounce pour for $5.75 or a 12 ounce pour for $9.75), 81Bay Brewing Co. Rosé Blonde Ale (again, available for individual purchase as a 6 ounce pour for $5.75 or a 12 ounce pour for $9.75), and the Frozen Rosé (individually priced at $7.25), which is certainly a unique offering for a Flight, and we enjoy this crisp, refreshing trio year after year.
The highlight of the three is the Frozen Rosé, even though it is very similar to the frozen wines you can get at the France pavilion, but it has a hint of tartness and is certainly tasty.
Marietta Old Vine Rosé is also up for grabs for $6.25.
OVERALL
We were disappointed in the Pork and White Bean Cassoulet. The dish was very mushy and lacked flavor. We were hoping for more complexity in this dish. On the other hand, we love the Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib. The combination of savory sauce, hearty vegetables, and creamy mashed potatoes is lovely.

Pastoral Palate Spread
We also think the Black Forest Cake is delicious. It isn’t anything super unique, but if you want a dessert that combines chocolate and cherry, this is the perfect choice. We think the Frozen Rosé is the star of the drink options.
Thanks for joining us at Pastoral Palate! And don’t forget that there’s a LOT more where that came from…
