We Know What EVERY Disney Fan Will Be Doing in 2025!

As expected, Disney announced that Walt’s original park would go big for its birthday in 2025 during the 2024 D23 Ultimate Fan Event! Next year, Disneyland will be celebrating its monumental 70th birthday, and like it has in the past, doing so in style.

During the Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase panel on Saturday night August 10th, Disney announced that the theme park would have a year-long celebration in honor of the park turning 70, and revealed the celebration’s logo.

While further details were left scarce for now, looking back over Disneyland’s history shows us that the park has always “gone big” for major anniversaries. The 35th in 1990 featured a new parade and daily giveaways, and the 40th in 1995 saw the debut of the Indiana Jones Adventure E-Ticket attraction. The 2005 50th and 2015 60th set the bar for the modern anniversary, featuring parades, fireworks shows, nighttime spectaculars, themed decor, food, and merchandise, all of which touched on the nostalgic aspects and appeal of the “Happiest Place on Earth.”

Disneyland will officially turn 70 on July 17th, 2025, which falls in the midst of a massively important time in the resort’s history thanks to the passage of DisneylandForward this past year. Who knows? Maybe Disney is planning some massive DisneylandForward announcements to time with the 70th since the project was almost completely ignored during D23 this year.
