The sun is finally starting to come back out after Hurricane Debby, which means we are back to using one of our favorite Disney World essentials!

It is no secret that it can be hot and sunny at Disney World (and rainy, too). We are constantly reapplying sunscreen and staying hydrated throughout the day. Just like how a comfortable pair of shoes is essential to a successful trip to Disney World, this new park essential is the best!

While we love this umbrella, we have a word of warning about going through security. Disney World security uses fancy metal detectors that do not require you to get your bag checked; simply walk through the detector, and you’re on your way, well, in most cases. These metal detectors tend to go off when the following items are still in your bag: umbrellas, metal water bottles, sunglass cases, and some portable chargers.

Magic Kingdom Security

If you have any of these items in your bag, simply remove them from your bag and hold them out in front of you while you go through security. The machine will still beep, but security will see what you held out in front of you and wave you through. 

Take it out of the case!

As we said, umbrellas set off the metal detector, and this UV umbrella is no exception. Before you go through security, make sure to take the umbrella out of the case and hold both the case and umbrella out in front of you. This is to ensure that Disney security can see what is inside the case, and that way, you do not have to be stopped to go to the secondary screening.
