Disney fans will have to wait a little bit longer for two highly anticipated movies!
Moana
It looks like 2026 is shaping up to be a big year for Disney movies. The company recently dropped a ton of announcements about its upcoming release schedule, including new release dates for two major films!
In a major Disney movie news drop, we learned that we’ll have to wait a little bit longer to see a few upcoming projects. First, the live-action Moana movie that was originally slated to open in 2025 has been pushed back to July 10th, 2026. But don’t worry, Moana fans — you can still catch the animated sequel to the original, Moana 2, in November 2024.

It was also revealed that a spy thriller with Rami Malek and Rachel Brosnahan titled The Amateur will be pushed back from November 8th, 2024 to April 11th, 2025.

Here’s a full look at all the release dates that were revealed in the announcements:
- The Amateur — April 11th, 2025
- Tron: Ares — October 10th, 2025
- The Mandalorian & Grogu — May 22nd, 2026
- Toy Story 5 — June 6th, 2026
- Moana (live-action) — July 10th, 2026
- Untitled Star Wars film — December 18th, 2026
On top of the movies with confirmed dates, another new Pixar film and several Disney and Marvel titles are also slated for 2026, but titles and premiere dates have not yet been revealed.

The announcements also showed that an untitled Disney project originally slated for July 10th, 2026 has now been removed from the schedule.
