NEWS: Major Genie+ Price INCREASE Means Huge Crowds Have Hit Disney World!

The wild part is — it’s not even noon yet! Sometimes early in the day is the easiest time to see how busy the day will be at Disney World, and today is no exception! We know we’ve seen some pretty hectic crowds recently, and wait times were still pretty high last week. Let’s take a look at just how busy it is today!

There are a TON of different ways you can figure out just how busy Disney World is going to be on a given day. We know that there hasn’t really been a “slow season” at the Florida parks in a while, and the crowd levels recently show that. However, there is one telltale sign that shows when it is SUPER busy at the parks… and on March 11th, we met that threshold. Genie+ sold out for Multiple Parks!

What does that mean? Well, it means that Disney’s premier skip-the-line service, Genie+ has sold out at some of the Disney World parks today! Not only has it sold out, but it is at a very HIGH price point! Each park had a pretty significant increase from where the prices were yesterday (Magic Kingdom on March 10th was $29). Please excuse us while we check our eyes to make sure we’re seeing this right…. yep, we are.

Not every park has sold out yet, so if you’re still looking to snag it for the day, you still have time. However, if you’re looking to get the “Multiple Parks” option — maybe consider which park you want to prioritize Genie+ for because that selection is sold out.

Along with the “Multiple Parks” selection being sold out, a TON of Individual Lightning Lane (ILL) selections — which are rides that aren’t included in Genie+ that you have to pay a separate fee for — sold out early this morning. The rides that we’ve seen sold out so far are Rise of the Resistance, Guardians of The Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Flight of Passage.

For some of these rides, you are still able to try to get a virtual queue spot at 1 PM if you’re in the park, so make sure you are checking the app around then for your chance to snag a spot! You have to be in the park that the ride is in for this virtual queue drop, so keep that in mind! Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and TRON Lightcycle / Run are the rides that you can try to grab a boarding group for.

On all days, you can try to get a boarding group using the virtual queues for these rides at 7 AM and again at 1 PM.

Why is it SO busy right now? Well, some schools are officially on Spring Break! So, crowds are up while families are vacationing. The times that Spring Break happens vary depending on where you are from, so some schools are on break even if yours (or your child’s) isn’t!

At the time of writing this, options are still available to purchase for all of the parks individually. So, if you’re looking to spend a day at one park or don’t mind not having Genie+ for every park you’re planning to hit today, then no worries!

However, if you DO want Genie+ for each park you plan to visit today, there may be a more expensive workaround option. You can purchase Genie+ for each park individually if you feel like you truly can’t go without it. However, we feel like there are some parks that you don’t necessarily need it for — but, of course, that decision is totally up to you!

You can always find some crowds at Disney World

If you don’t plan to purchase Genie+ and are faced with a busy park day, there is no need to worry. There are still ways that you can make your day magical! While the wait times may be long, don’t forget that you can utilize the standby line. There are also a ton of shows, parades, and different character interactions that you can see throughout the parks.
