If you’re thinking about dining at California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you’ll want to keep reading.
So the best thing about dining at California Grill is that you get a great view of Magic Kingdom. If you time your dinner just right, you can even watch the Happily Ever After fireworks (the music is piped into the restaurant) — dinner AND a show! But you may be a little hesitant to book that dining reservation for one reason: the menu is prix fixe (which means you pay one price and choose one item for each course from a limited menu) and none of the entrees appeal to you. But we’ve got a hack that changes everything.
California Grill costs $89 per adult and $39 per child. For that, you get an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. But let’s just say that none of the entrees appeals, to you or you like more of what you see on the appetizer menu. Don’t worry, WE GOT YOU!
Okay, so everyone knows how good the sushi is at California Grill, right? Well, if you would rather just eat sushi as your entree, YOU CAN! Yep, you can order two appetizers, and have one of those be your entree instead. So if you want to double-up on sushi, you can do just that!!! We like to do this with the Wagyu Surf & Turf Roll (yep, we get two) because you’re getting two MASSIVE sushi rolls with Wagyu beef on top, meaning it’s a good value.
You don’t have to do this with just sushi, though — you can substitute your entree for any item on the appetizer menu. So you could get two appetizers and a dessert as your prix fixe meal. This just opens up more options for you if you want them!
So keep that in mind if you do have plans to eat at California Grill in the future.
