Disney’s Candlelight Processional has been a long-standing tradition at both Disneyland and Disney World.

Disney’s Candlelight Processional is a fan-favorite nighttime show where folks will tune in as a celebrity narrator shares a biblical retelling of the Christmas Story alongside a choir of Cast Members. A Disney Resort has its very own version of Candlelight Processional, and y’all — we want to go SO BAD.
Cast Members at Disney’s Aulani Resort in Hawaii started off December with a brand-new show called “He Mo‘olelo Hemolele: A Story of Faith, Hope & Aloha.” This new show drew inspiration from Disney’s Candlelight Processional tradition but added a few Hawaiian cultural twists like hula, chants, storytelling, and songs with the help of Aulani Cast Members and volunteers.

Aulani Entertainment Cast Member Charles Timtim said, “Being involved in ‘He Mo’olelo Hemolele’ has filled me with a sense of pride in our mo‘olelo (stories), mele (music), leo (voices), and hula (dance) that is shared with our guests from around the world, and now they can experience the holiday season from a distinctly Hawaiian view.”

While this year’s showings have already concluded, there are still plenty of ways to celebrate. Throughout the resort, you’ll find holiday decor and activities, and even things like hotel carolers, a giant Mickey sugar cookie, and, of course — you can venture out to Ko Olina beach and lagoon.
