Back in September, Disney made a lot of HUGE announcements.
Destination D23
Destination D23 took place at the beginning of September with big announcements like when Journey of Water was going to open and when the EPCOT transformation would be complete. They also made one big announcement about a ride that would be changing in November!
The Haunted Mansion is a classic Disney ride and one of Walt’s own ideas for the park, though it wasn’t completed until after his death. Now there are different variations of the ride in several Disney parks.

The Hatbox Ghost was one original idea that did not work out the way it was intended. Then in 2015, he was brought back to the ride in Disneyland, but not in Disney World.

But at Destination D23, Disney told us that he would finally be making his appearance in the Disney World Haunted Mansion this year, specifically later this month! Unlike in Disneyland where you can find the Hatbox Ghost at the end of the attic scene, he will instead be at the end of the Endless Hallway (where we usually see the floating candelabra).

So if you’re going to be in Disney World at the end of this month, be sure to be on the lookout for this new addition! He might be there grinning right at your Doom Buggies.
