Disney Teases New SURPRISE Announcements for ‘Frozen’ Anniversary

I was 13 years old when I headed into the movie theater to see Frozen for the first time, and despite all the rage and angst that comes along with being a teenage girl in the 8th grade, I sobbed for 25 minutes over the unbreakable bond between two sisters.

Now, I still sob over the unbreakable bond between two sisters every time I watch Frozen (and Frozen 2!), and many other Disney fans are right there with me. Yes, it has been nearly 10 years since Frozen debuted in theaters, and since then, it has thawed the frozen hearts of teenage girls and grown adults alike — and has managed to remain an obsession among children around the globe for an entire decade. Disney has announced a THIRD Frozen film in the works, and now, they’re doing something special for the 10-year anniversary of the original film.

Disney is launching a 10-week countdown celebration in honor of 10 whole years of the Frozen story. Throughout the celebration, sectors of the company will collaborate to bring Disney fans fun surprises across the parks, merchandise, music, and even community outreach.

To start the celebration, Disney shared a “thank you” message to fans for keeping the story that Frozen tells alive and well. Check it out!

In October, Disney is celebrating the anniversary by launching an all-new podcast: Disney Frozen: Forces of Nature. It’ll feature 12 episodes and will take listeners along on a story in which Anna and Elsa must work together with a Queen from a neighboring kingdom to solve a mystery in the Enchanted Forest.

On November 20th, 2023, World of Frozen will officially open to guests at Hong Kong Disneyland and will make history as the world’s very first Frozen-themed land. There, guests will be able to participate in a Summer Snow Day celebration which will commemorate the grand opening as well as the day that Anna saved Elsa with an act of true love.
