NEWS: Disney Announces “First-Of-Its-Kind” Animated ‘Toy Story’ NFL Game

We’ve certainly experienced some STRANGE things in the Disney Parks.

Not only that, we’ve also seen Disney do some things that have us questioning…just why? That time has come again, because it’s just been announced that Toy Story football is now a thing?

Yes, ESPN has just announced that Toy Story Funday Football is on the way. This is a fully-animated, real-time alternate presentation of the Falcons and Jaguars NFL game…from INSIDE the Toy Story universe.

If you’re confused, don’t worry, so are lots of people. Essentially, Andy’s room will replicate the real-time gameplay from Wembley Stadium (where the NFL game is being played) where each player will have their own animated representation of themselves on the field. It will stream on Disney+, ESPN+, and NFL+ on October 1st at 9:30AM EST.

This is the “latest in ESPN’s innovation strategy, providing alternate telecasts in signature events.” We know that we’ll see characters like Woody, Buzz, Bo Peep, Bullseye, Bunny, Ducky, Forky, Green Aliens, Jesse, Rex, and Slinky Dog. The halftime performance will be Duke Caboom attempting a motorcycle jump.

There will also be demonstrations like “how-to” videos available on the live stream to help teach the audience about football. We’ll be tuning in for sure, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest news!
