A NEW Disney Hotel Expansion Is Officially Underway!

From time to time, we get a little FOMO when we learn about all the cool new stuff coming to the international Disney parks and resorts. For example, over in Hong Kong Disneyland, there’s a whole NEW World of Frozen land coming soon! Plus, there are some incredible developments happening at Tokyo Disneyland that have us ready to book a whole trip to Tokyo.

Well, this time, we’re daydreaming about the new expansion happening at Shanghai Disney. Let’s take a look!

Shanghai Disney Resort just announced a NEW hotel expansion! According to a press release from Shanghai Disney, construction on Shanghai Disney Resort’s third Disney-themed hotel has started.

This expansion is set to bring a NEW deluxe hotel to the area, complete with 400 rooms. Currently, there are two other resorts on property — Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and the Toy Story Hotel.

According to Disney, “The new hotel will immerse guests in spaces and activities which showcase Disney characters and stories, introduce new dining, shopping, and entertainment experiences, and provide more options for guests planning multi-day visits to the resort.”

Disney revealed that the theme is influenced by “Art Nouveau architecture and design – and infused with Disney storytelling and whimsy.” The hotel is set to pay homage to “Shanghai’s unique early 20th-century architectural legacy, while staying true to Shanghai Disney Resort’s overall planning principle of being ‘authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese.'”

The hotel is located on the shores of Wishing Star Lake and will offer special experiences, including both indoor and outdoor recreational amenities and more. We’ll be sure to keep our eyes out for more news on this hotel expansion!
