BREAKING: The New Shiki-Sai Restaurant Is Officially OPEN in EPCOT

Disney has made another quiet decision about a new experience opening at Disney World and this time, we’re LOVING it!

We’ve been anxiously anticipating the grand opening of Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya since it was announced as taking over the Tokyo Dining space in EPCOT. We THOUGHT we had an opening date already set but it looks like we’ll be able to dine here sooner than we expected!

Disney previously announced that their newest restaurant in EPCOT, Shiki-Sai Sushi Izakaya, would be opening on August 30th, 2023, now, that date seems to have CHANGED! In an Instagram post, the restaurant announced that the doors are open starting TODAY!

They said, “Join us on the second floor of the Japan Pavilion at Walt Disney World EPCOT for a taste of authentic sushi, Izakaya-style dishes, and refreshing beverages among enchanting scenes from Japan’s four seasons.” It’s open from 12PM to 9PM for walk-in guests only. You can make reservations now for dates starting on August 28th.

While browsing reservation options on the website earlier this morning, we noticed availability popped up for August 28th, 2023, which is a couple of days earlier than Disney previously announced. At first, we thought it may have been a fluke as Shiki-Sai had posted hours in the app and website a few days prior which turned out to be for a private event hosted over a few days. Then the restaurant returned to its regular closed status and we were told by cast members working the restaurant events that they would be opening later this month.

After a few minutes of clicking around a reservation button popped up on us and we were able to successfully see bookable dining times that could be reserved for lunch…

While we’re not sure why the decision was made to open the restaurant a few days than previously scheduled, we’re excited to see that it will be opening even sooner than anticipated and can’t wait to get out and try their new menu items.
