Marvel Went Undercover To Buy Back Samuel L. Jackson's Stolen Script

Marvel fans know that when it comes to secrets, Marvel holds them VERY DEAR.

Most fans never predicted the plot twists that ended up blowing our minds in movies like Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, or others. We also never know exactly what’s going to happen next on shows like Loki and Secret Invasion. So what does Marvel do when there’s a chance its secrets could get OUT?

Well, now we know. Marvel pulls a Nick Fury and goes undercover.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Nick Fury himself, A.K.A. actor Samuel L. Jackson, admitted that his script for The Avengers was stolen and then later put online FOR SALE. Wow. That’s some audacity right there.

But wait, because this story gets even more intense. Marvel arranged to get the script back by GOING UNDERCOVER. They posed as a buyer for the script.

Unfortunately, the script wasn’t recovered because the person responsible for the theft didn’t show up. Jackson said, “I was shooting in Canada and Marvel came to Canada. It had been printed in the production office… They found out who it was, dude quit, left the country. They set up a fake buy for the script, dude didn’t show up. It was crazy.”

Jackson and his Secret Invasion co-star Emilia Clarke spoke more about the security protocols they had to deal with while filming the new Marvel series. Clarke mentioned in the interview how she had a Zoom meeting with Marvel security before she began to film the show that “terrified” her. She even said she was so scared that she took the SIM card out of her phone for the first few days of filming.

There was an issue of people flying drones over set locations during the filming of Secret Invasion. Jackson revealed more about how the drones were handled. “They shot one down,” Jackson says. “And they followed one back to where the dude was. They found him and, yeah, they got him.”

Yep, Marvel shot a drone down to prevent spoilers. Just WOW. But that’s what makes watching Marvel television and movies so good — we hardly ever get word of what is going to happen ahead of time.
