In case you needed another reason to love Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, we have one that includes both guacamole and tequila.
In 2020, the hospitality industry took a major hit as restaurant visitors dwindled due to the global pandemic. Local businesses and restaurant owners struggled to make ends meet in order to operate, and several unfortunately ended up closing. That’s when The Rock, together with his tequila brand Teremana, decided to come up with a way to support local restaurants while also celebrating Cinco de Mayo and his birthday.
For the third year in a row, The Rock and Teremana will host “Guac on The Rock,” a week-long event that reimburses restaurant goers when they order guacamole with a Teremana cocktail — up to $1,000,000. This event will take place from May 1st to May 7th, 2023.
“Bringing people together the Teremana way — to have a great time while supporting and celebrating the hospitality industry and its incredible workers — is one of the best ways to celebrate Cinco de Mayo and my birthday,” Johnson said. “Now it’s Teremana’s turn to express our gratitude… Let everyone know that the guac is on The Rock again!”
Customers 21 and over who order a Teremana cocktail with an order of guacamole will be reimbursed up to $10 — to encourage people to go out to eat and support their hospitality workers. To see a list of participating locations, you can visit guacontherock.com.
All you’ll have to do is go to a participating restaurant, order a Teremana cocktail and guac, take a photo of your receipt, and submit that picture online. You’ll be reimbursed through Venmo.
