Not all drinks are made equal in Disneyland: That goes for all drink flights, too.
We’re at the 2023 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival and we’ve been eating a TON of food there, enjoying some fun entertainment, and more! So we’re heading on over to the Uncork California booth, where we’re checking out some food, as well as another drink flight.
Menu
You can enjoy a wide selection of wine flights and wines by the glass here at the Uncork California booth: there’s a flight for Mimosas, as well as flights with white wines and red wines. As you might be able to tell, many of these menu items are inspired by the Walt Disney Company’s 100th Anniversary Celebration.
There are also a few eats here, including a California Artisan Cheese Selection and Celebration Chocolate Fudge Brownie
Eats
We’re starting with the eats! The California Artisan Cheese Selection for $8.50 features Marin French Cheese Co. Jalapeño Triple Cream Brie, Fiscalini Farmstead Purple Moon Cheddar, and Craft Beer Cheddar. These were certainly some interesting cheeses!
The Craft Beer Cheddar did have a beer taste to it, but it was more of an aftertaste. The Marin French Cheese Co. Jalapeño Triple Cream Brie is VERY good. We found it to be spicy and creamy — it went great with the fresh grapes. The Fiscalini Farmstead Purple Moon Cheddar also surprised us. We thought this one would be strong, but it was fairly mild and tasty.
The Celebration Chocolate Fudge Brownie for $6.50 is a Gooey Chocolate Brownie with Pecans, topped with Chocolate Pecan Glaze, and finished with Chocolate Pearls and Silver Stars. This was just not that great. Our brownie was a little dry, too, and very hard to eat in the little cups they’re served in.
Also, our reporter wasn’t a big fan of nuts and there are pecans in it (which those with nut allergies will also want to keep in mind).l
Drinks
There is a WIDE variety of wines to try here, as well as flights of mimosas, red wines, and white wines. We decided to try the Century of Magic Mimosa Flight, which features three special mimosas for $18. The 1923 Mimosa is made with Prosecco, White Cranberry Juice, White Peach Syrup, and Lemon Juice. This one was really good!
The 1939 Mimosa is made with Prosecco, Pineapple, and Passion Fruit and Orange Juices with Guava Nectar. This one was also VERY tasty. It basically has POG juice in it, so how could we NOT like it?
However, the 1955 Mimosa, made with Prosecco, Dragon Fruit and Rose Syrups, and Lemon Juice was not great. It tasted like what we imagine our Grandma’s perfume tastes like. We honestly don’t feel like the flight is a very good value at $18 for such tiny little glasses.
Overall
We like that this booth is inspired by the 100th anniversary celebration, but we don’t feel the flights here are worth the price. The cheeses were good, but the brownie was not. We wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to visit this booth during the festival, but if you find yourself there and hungry, stick with the cheese plate.
That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
