PHOTOS: A NEW Building Takes Shape at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Disney World is ALWAYS under some kind of construction — and that’s part of the reason we love it.

There are always NEW things coming, like new restaurants, new rides, and even entirely new lands! Even EPCOT is getting a HUGE transformation. Over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, a LOT of construction is going on, so let’s cruise on over there for the latest updates!

The big construction project over at the Polynesian is for the new Disney Vacation Club Villas and we’ve seen a LOT of progress happening there. The last time we checked, we saw the first of a foundation being put down on the construction site:

We’ve also recently seen some pipes arriving on site.

We also saw these being laid into the ground.

As we followed along with the project, we saw the foundation beginning to take form.

Eventually, the beginnings of a structure were beginning to take shape.

Cranes have been very busy on the site.

Now, some actual walls have gone up! It’s starting to look like a building now.

The wall is UP!

Now, that wall has become a series of walls, as we begin to see the basic structure of the building taking shape.

So that’s where the project is right now, but it’s finally starting to actually LOOK like something and we expect to see even more construction progress as we go through this month. We’ll be back soon with more photos, so stay tuned to DFB for more!

Note that for the time being, the walkway between the Polynesian and Magic Kingdom is closed for refurbishment, too, but both the Monorail and Boats are running between the two locations. Guests are also being notified that they may hear some construction noise during the day, but the noise will not begin until after 9AM.
