This New Food Pairing Has Us Questioning Our Whole Lives

The 2023 Super Bowl is almost upon us! For those of us who aren’t as big into football, we still have something to look forward to: the food!

While many people will be preparing delicious dips and platters of snacks, Hormel has come out with a new item that combines two of the most classic Super Bowl snacks. But did they go too far?

Hormel, known for their chili, has partnered with probably the last type of company you could image: a brewery! Modist Brewing Co. worked with Hormel to create a brand-new drink that will surely be the talk of every living room. The two companies combined their best attributes and came up with Hormel Chili Cheese Brew. And yes, it is what it sounds like.

They describe this as a “sippable beer” (we’re not entirely sure about that), and the flavor is inspired by chili cheese dip. The lager features a corn-chip-flavored base of Minnesota Pilsner barley malt. It also includes the taste of flaked corn seasoned with savory chili spices and cheddar cheese powder. We are not so sure how we feel about this … Chili? Yum. Cheese? Delicious! Beer? There are plenty of good flavors. But combined?!

We will reserve full judgment until we actually taste it, but we can’t say we have very high expectations.
