It looks like Disney World is gearing up for the upcoming release of the live-action version of The Little Mermaid!

Disney’s new live-action version of The Little Mermaid is coming to theaters on May 26th, 2023. And according to a recent casting announcement, it looks like the movie’s princess will be heading to Disney World!
In the live-action version of The Little Mermaid, the lead role of Ariel will be played by actress and singer Halle Bailey. And it looks like Disney World is preparing for the upcoming movie release by casting for the role of the live-action Ariel!

Disney’s audition website currently lists a casting announcement searching for “Disney Character Look-alikes for the role of ARIEL as depicted in the upcoming live-action adaption of The Little Mermaid.”

The casting announcement also includes a brief description of the character, describing her as, “An inquisitive and daring mermaid princess, Ariel is fascinated by the world of humans. Whether she’s on land or under the sea, she’s eager to connect her two worlds, knowing they aren’t so different after all,” as well as reference photos of Halle Bailey, both in the role of Ariel and out of costume.
