One of the things that makes dining at Disney parks unique is their character dining experiences.

It’s always a treat to talk to Princess Tiana!

Whether it be classic characters like Mickey Mouse or our favorite princesses, there’s nothing quite like getting to meet the characters you love while enjoying a tasty meal! There’s a new Princess and the Frog-themed restaurant coming to Disneyland soon — so is this spot going to be a character dining experience too?

Today, Disney announced that Tiana’s Palace, a new Disneyland restaurant, will be opening later this year. When the restaurant was first announced we wondered whether the famous princess would be greeting the customers at her establishment! Along with a location and timeline, Disney also has given us some information regarding any potential character dining at the restaurant.

The new restaurant on Orleans Street will be serving up loads of delicious dishes, but at the moment it will be our usual friendly Cast Members taking care of us — Disney announced that Tiana’s Palace will not be a character dining location. It will be a quick service restaurant rather than a sit-down spot, so Tiana won’t be inside the restaurant.

However, you may still have the opportunity to meet Tiana in New Orleans Square from time to time! If you’re visiting after the restaurant opens, be sure to keep an eye out for the princess in the square.
