Want to spend time in Disney’s Hollywood Studios WITHOUT massive crowds? Want to hop on rides like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance without huge waits and eat all the popcorn your heart desires? Then we have an event for you.

After a bit of a hiatus, Disney After Hours events are coming BACK to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2023! But just what is included if you shell out the extra cash to get a ticket to one of these events? Allow us to break it all down for you here.

The Basics

Disney After Hours are limited-capacity events offered after the regular guests have gone for the day! During the After Hours events, you can hop on some of your favorite rides in the park, enjoy snacks, and even catch some great entertainment.

The event takes place in Hollywood Studios on select nights from January 4th, 2023 through April 19th, 2023. Tickets can already be bought online, and some tickets have sold out, so you’ll want to get yours quickly if you haven’t done so already.

Ticket prices range by date. Currently, with the available dates, prices range from $139 to $149. Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members can get a discount.

The event officially starts at 9:30PM and ends at 12:30AM when offered, but those who buy a ticket for the event will get to enter Disney’s Hollywood Studios as early as 7PM on the day of the event — giving them extra time in the park.

Attractions and entertainment are subject to change, so just keep that in mind!

Attractions

One of the big perks of Disney After Hours events is that they feature limited capacity, meaning you’ll get the chance to ride some of your favorite attractions with LOWER waits.

What attractions will be available, you ask? Good question! That list is subject to change, but Disney has revealed that the attractions available may include the following:

• Alien Swirling Saucers
• Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
• Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
• Slinky Dog Dash
• Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
• Toy Story Mania!
• and others

Again, remember that the list of rides that’ll be open is subject to change.

Snacks

Your After Hours ticket also includes some complimentary snacks. Specifically, ice cream novelties (like those ever-popular Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bars!), popcorn, and select bottled beverages will be all yours for FREE throughout the event. You’ll find these at various carts throughout the park.

On top of the “free” snacks, there will be some food and beverage locations open with snacks you can purchase during the event.

Entertainment

If you are all about the entertainment, you’ll find that during the After Hours event too. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, look for the Wonderful World of Animation show (which takes place at the Chinese Theatre) to be offered. It will generally be offered at 9PM for regular guests, and again at 11:45PM for After Hours guests.

During this projection show, you’ll see sequences from Disney and Pixar films up on the theatre — including clips from Coco, The Incredibles, and more!

Disney Movie Magic will also have a special showing for those at the After Hours event. While it’ll typically be available at 8:40PM for all guests, those at the After Hours event will get to see it again at 11:25PM.

This 10-minute show features projections on the Chinese Theatre celebrating iconic moments from films like Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean.

Other entertainment will generally be offered during “regular” park hours for all guests but may not have any After Hours-specific times. This appears to be the case with Fantasmic! There may be 1 or 2 showings of Fantasmic! during regular park hours on After Hours event days, depending on the date. Check the My Disney Experience app and Disney World website for details for your specific event date.

In other words, if you want to watch Fantasmic!, be sure to enter the park earlier than that 9:30PM start time for the After Hours event so you can catch it during regular park hours.
