It’s almost time for the New Year!

New Year’s Eve Crowds in 2021!
It might not technically even be Christmas yet but Disney is already celebrating the New Year. They released a new pair of 2023 Ears recently, tons of 2023-inspired merchandise, and they’ve announced new nighttime shows coming next year. Recently, while we were in EPCOT — we found another way Disney is prepping for the New Year and we think it looks like tons of fun!
Over at the Italy Pavilion in the World Showcase in EPCOT, we found what looks to be the first setup to prepare for some New Year’s Eve celebrations. There appears to be a large, circular lighting rig set up in the plaza area!

Italy is prepping for NYE!
Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT will all be staying open late so guests can ring in the new year in Disney World style. Last year, EPCOT had several DJs stationed throughout the World Showcase for guests to enjoy the celebrations and it looks like they’re coming back for 2022.

Silent DJ Dance Party 2021
Each year for New Year’s Eve, Magic Kingdom does a countdown on the castle and we’ve seen EPCOT and Hollywood Studios do it occasionally in the past as well.
At EPCOT, Harmonious will premiere at 6:30PM instead of the usual 9PM time slot. Magic Kingdom will not show Disney Enchantment on New Year’s Eve, but will have the Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks at both 6:30PM and 11:50PM, leading into a countdown for 2023.

We bet the crowds will be pretty crazy this year!
