We’re officially back from Disney’s D23 Expo, and we learned a LOT of news.
From potential new theme park lands and opening timelines for attractions to updates on the latest Disney film and television projects, there was no shortage of info. But, Disney likes keeping us on our toes, and it seems as though they’ve quietly announced and updated a few release dates!
While Disney may have given us a lot of information to take in at the 2022 D23 Expo, we didn’t hear much about official release dates coming from Disney. But, now it looks like we do have some concrete dates about upcoming projects — and a few updates, too.
According to Deadline, the new Star Wars movie Rogue Squadron, has been removed from its December 22nd, 2023 release date with no word on whether or not the film is still in development.
Not only that, but Disney’s upcoming live-action Haunted Mansion movie has been pushed back — instead of a March 10th, 2023 release date, the film will now be available on August 11th, 2023.
The new Disney animated film Wish will be released over Thanksgiving weekend, on November 22nd of next year, and an untitled Marvel movie originally slated for February 16th, 2024 has been moved to September 6th, 2024.
Pixar’s Elio is coming on on March 1st, 2024, and the live-action Snow White remake will be released in theaters on March 22nd, 2024. You can catch Inside Out 2 on June 14th, 2024, and Mufasa: The Lion King will premiere on July 5th, 2024.
The biggest takeaways here are the seemingly scrapped Star Wars project, along with the pushed back premiere of Haunted Mansion. Disney hasn’t made any official announcements about either movie, but we’ll keep an eye out for more updates. Keep in mind that these release dates could still change, especially the ones that are years away.
