It’s official, y’all! The 2022 EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is now underway!
We’re working our way around the whole festival to bring you everything it has to offer. We’ve got you covered on everything from the menus for each of the booths to the full lineup for the Eat to the Beat Concert Series! Now, we’re heading to the Earth Eats booth to see what’s worth it, and what you should skip.
Menu
At the Earth Eats booth, you’ll find two snack choices and three drinks. The food items at Earth Eats are both plant-based, with one new item and one returning item.
The returning food item is the Impossible Burger Slider, and of the three drinks, the Stephen Vincent Pinot Noir is also returning. The new items on the menu are the Impossible Meatball and the Strawberry Freeze drink, which you can get as a non-alcoholic drink or add some booze to it. Now, let’s dive in!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Impossible Meatballs with Herbed Polenta, Rustic Puttanesca Sauce, and Basil Pesto. This is the brand-new food item at this booth. You can grab it for $5.75.
These meatballs were SO tasty! Even our reporters who do eat meat really enjoyed the flavor, although it was clearly “impossible” meat rather than normal meat. Our reporter who eats plant-based loved them as well! There’s a generous amount of basil pesto sauce, which went great with the meatballs (although we would honestly have eaten just the sauce with a spoon, it was that good).
The polenta was delicious as well, although it did have a bit of an odd texture, but the flavor was still great. There were a lot of big flavors in this dish, and it was a little bit spicy. The spice wasn’t overwhelming, but if you don’t like spicy food at all then you may want to avoid these.
The other food item is the Impossible Burger Slider, which we’ve seen at previous festivals. This slider is made with Impossible Meat, topped with Wasabi Cream and Spicy Slaw on a Sesame Seed Bun.
The portion is pretty generous with this snack, which you can get for $6. The bigger piece of impossible meat might be off-putting if you don’t like the flavor of that kind of meat, and the texture was just a bit odd as well. We thought it tasted well-balanced with the different flavors, and we especially enjoyed the slaw on top, which had a nice kick to it. Again, this snack is a bit spicy, so those who don’t like spice at all should steer clear.
The slider is well-seasoned, and overall we really enjoyed it! It’s definitely a great option for plant-based eaters, and we think most meat eaters will enjoy these snacks as well.
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the Strawberry Freeze featuring Twinings Lemon & Ginger Herbal Tea for $4.50.You can get this drink as it is (non-alcoholic) or add Ketel One Botanical Cucumber and Mint Vodka. With the alcohol, the drink costs $11.
We got this drink without alcohol, and we thought it was very light and refreshing! The strawberry purée sank to the bottom, so be sure to mix your drink when you get it to make sure you can taste all the flavors in each sip. You could taste the herbal tea in this drink, but it wasn’t overwhelming. So even if you’re not a fan of herbal teas, we think you can still enjoy it!
If you’re looking for wine, Earth Eats also has the Stephen Vincent Pinot Noir from California, which is another returning item. It is $6.
Overall
In general, we think that both plant-based eaters and meat eaters alike will find something delicious to try at this booth! Those Impossible Meatballs really impressed us, and we thought the Strawberry Freeze was super light, flavorful, and refreshing. If you’re not familiar with Impossible Meat, be aware that it has a different texture and flavor from normal meat. But we thought everything was tasty, well-seasoned, and definitely worth a try!
