REVIEW: If You Haven't Had This Dole Whip Creation in Disney World, You're Doing it Wrong

You know what they say — if you love something, let it go.

But we have a LOT of favorite Disney snacks we do NOT want to let go of. There are some seriously delicious treats we hope we never have to say goodbye to! Unfortunately, Disney menus do change and over the years we’ve had to say “sayonara” to some incredibly delicious treats. But menus can change again and sometimes those treats make a delightful (though sometimes inconsistent) return to the parks! That’s what just happened to one of our FAVORITE Magic Kingdom snacks, and now we’re spilling all the details (and a full review) just for you.

Unfortunately, our beloved Dole Whip-Topped Pineapple Upside-Down Cake from Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom went missing quite some time ago and we were worried we had said our last goodbyes to this amazing treat. Cue the tears. 😭 But a few weeks ago, we noticed a change that sparked some hope in our hearts (and stomachs), and then in mid-June the snack FINALLY made its way back to Aloha Isle!

It’s THERE!!

For those who may not be familiar with it, the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake with Dole Whip is pretty much exactly what the title says — a pineapple upside-down cake served with your choice of Dole Whip Pineapple, Dole Whip Vanilla, or a swirl on top.

Again, this is a treat that has been at Aloha Isle for a while (since back in 2017), but disappeared some time ago and now is BACK.

We’ve loved this treat in the past, so we were a bit nervous trying it upon its latest return. Could it live up to our expectations from the past? Could it truly live up to the hype?!

Y’ALL. IT DID. 🎉 Once again, we LOVED this treat! The cake was moist and flavorful without tasting artificial, and the Dole Whip flavors work perfectly with the cake.

Plus, the serving size is pretty big for its price tag of $6.99! This treat certainly is shareable (unless you want it all to yourself, which we’d totally understand). 😉

Just keep in mind that the cake is NOT served warm. Our reporter shared that having the cake be slightly warm might make it even more amazing, but considering the Florida heat and how quickly the Dole Whip melts on its own, the cooler cake mixed with the refreshing Dole Whip does make sense!

Unless you strongly dislike pineapple (in which case, stay away from this treat), we think you’ll really love this. If you’re visiting in the summer however, watch out! 🚨 This thing melts FAST! So grab some napkins and be ready to clean up a bit of a mess!
