Disney World has 4 Beacon of Magic shows to celebrate the 50th Anniversary. But did you know they recently added a 5th?

The Beacons of Magic are short shows in the Disney World parks that transform the icons into glittery, iridescent beacons. OK so maybe this newest one isn’t an official Beacon of Magic, but it sure looks like one! It doesn’t transform a park icon or even a building. Nope — this one transforms an incredible DRESS.

Disney Fairy Tale Weddings just premiered this year’s fashion show, which showcases several new dresses from their 2022 collection. We’ll show off all of the dresses in another post, but right now we need to talk about one very important dress in this collection.

For Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, Disney created a one-of-a-kind wedding dress that celebrates the landmark occasion.

This dress is made with 15,000 beads, 3,000 crystals, and — wait for it — 167 yards of fabric!

Some of the fabric is sparkle tulle, so this dress is VERY glittery.

During today’s fashion show, the 50th Anniversary Wedding Dress got its own Beacon of Magic moment. Usually, this honor is reserved for the park icons (the Cinderella Castle, Tower of Terror, Tree of Life, and Spaceship Earth), but today the 50th Anniversary dress became a beacon as well.

When the 50th Anniversary Wedding Dress came out, there were lights and projections that added some extra sparkle to this already dazzling dress.

In fact, the projections reminded us of the moment when Cinderella’s rags are transformed into a gorgeous ball gown in the movie Cinderella (which was one of Walt Disney’s favorite pieces of animation!).

Instead of turning rags into a gown, the projections turned the wedding dress into an iridescent Beacon of Magic while the Cinderella Castle became its own beacon in the background!

Blue, pink, and gold lights were projected onto the dress, which matched the 50th Anniversary decorations throughout the Disney World parks.

We mentioned before that this dress is one-of-a-kind, and it turns out that you actually cannot buy it. It’s not for sale right now, so the only way to get your hands on this amazing dress is to win it in the World’s Most Magical Wedding Dress Contest.
