REVIEW: Does the Poisonous Delight in Disney World Taste As Scary As It Sounds?

The Artist’s Palette at Disney World’s Saratoga Springs Resort (which is located right next to Disney Springs!) is known for its wide range of basic dishes, groceries, and its reputation as a secret spot to get creative, outside of the box cupcakes and treats!

In the past, we’ve enjoyed this spot’s offerings, such as the 50th Anniversary Eclair and Snow White Apple Cupcake! Generally, we tend to really enjoy the delicious and whimsical treats available at the Artist’s Palette’s bakery. Today, we’re checking out the restaurant’s Halloween treat, so let’s get into it!

The Poisoned Delight is a dessert that features an Applesauce Cake with Violet White Chocolate Mousse, Purple Buttercream, and Diced Cinnamon Apples in the center for $5.99. This treat was a surprisingly refreshing dessert, but the violet flavor didn’t really show up for us.

The most prominent flavor is the cinnamon sweetness of the cooked apples in the center! The applesauce cake is very moist, light, and subtle in its apple flavor. We’re actually kind of glad the violet flavor wasn’t particularly strong because we really enjoyed the applesauce cake and the cooked apples in the center! That being said, it would have been nice to be able to try that violet flavor.

The Poisoned Delight is a great Fall treat!

If you love apples, this is the treat for you! This is a great Halloween treat because you get all those Fall spices and flavors; you’ll definitely have flashbacks of sipping hot cider on a Fall afternoon with this one. The best part about this treat is that it not only has a whimsical and fun exterior, it’s also pretty delicious on the inside! On top, you’ll find a white chocolate leaf and a chocolate spider.

If you’re looking for something a bit more on the goofy side, how about the Spooky Bat from Le Petit Cafe at Disney’s Riviera Resort? This meme-worthy treat doesn’t just look funny, it tastes great too!

Another Halloween treat you could try is the Haunted Mansion Petit Cake at Amorette’s Patisserie in Disney Springs! The flavor of this one is a bit more basic compared to the Poisoned Delight, but it’s got a nice chocolatey flavor on the inside and fun, intricate decorations on the outside.
