Over 150 new treats and drinks are coming to Disney World as part of the 50th Anniversary celebration!
We’ve been making our way through the parks and resorts trying all kinds of sweet and savory options. But, now it’s time for us to stop into Magic Kingdom for a new drink with a name inspired by one of the park’s most classic attractions — The Haunted Mansion!
Over at Sleepy Hollow Refreshments in Magic Kingdom you’ll find the NEW Doom Berry drink. The drink is made of Blackberry Ginger Beer with EARidescence Sugar and is meant to be served with a Haunted Mansion straw. Note that this is a non-alcoholic drink.
We actually got a preview of this drink a few days ago, and when we did the drink was pretty EARidescent.
When we got the drink today, however, it wasn’t quite as glittery as we had hoped it would be. It had a little bit of a shimmer, but wasn’t super shiny. It might have just been the mix we got or the lighting, but it’s something to keep in mind.
The drink we got was also a bit darker in color than what we had seen before and what’s pictured online.
When we grabbed the drink, Cast Members at Sleepy Hollow told us they did not have the paper Haunted Mansion straws available, so we were given a different straw. We were really looking forward to getting that fun straw, so that was a bit of a disappointment. When we got the Happy Haunts Milkshake from Columbia Harbour House, however, they did have the Haunted Mansion straws (hooray!!). So hopefully that’s a matter that will get resolved quickly. Be sure to check if the Haunted Mansion straws are available when you visit.
In terms of the taste of the Doom Berry, you REALLY have to like ginger beer and the taste of ginger in general to like this. The ginger flavor is very prominent. The blackberry really didn’t come through, at least not for us.
