Review: If You Thought the Disney World 50th Anniversary Cupcakes Were Done…You Were Sadly Mistaken

It’s officially the 50th and we have been drowning in a sea of sparkly blue treats all day.

Happy 50th Everyone!

More than 150 new treats and snacks are coming to Disney World for this celebration, and we’re determined to try them all so that you know the best ones when you come for your vacation! We’re heading to a Disney World resort now to try a new cupcake with a 50th Anniversary theme.

You can find the newest 50th Anniversary treat at Le Petit Café, located at Disney’s Riviera Resort.

The new treat is the 50th Celebration Cupcake, which is a vanilla cupcake filled with cake-flavored mousse, toped with caramel-buttercream icing. On top, it’s decorated with gold crisp pearls, 50th Anniversary sprinkles, and a whimsical gold Mickey.

The cake part of the cupcake was really tasty, with a soft, moist texture. And we thought the gold pearls added just the right crunchiness as well!

The flavors, however, were way too sweet for us. The filling tastes like a birthday cake (inside of another cake!) and the marshmallow icing was super sweet as well. Do note, we have been eating and trying sweet things ALL DAY LONG. So this might not be as sweet to you if it’s your first cupcake of the day.
