REVIEW: Is The Latest Disney World Cupcake Worth Getting?

We have seen loads of new snacks this year for the Fourth of July, and there is nothing we love more than new snacks at Disney World, ESPECIALLY when they are themed for the holidays.

We had to stop by the Contempo Cafe at Disney’s Contemporary Resort that is located RIGHT next to Magic Kingdom, to try the latest cupcake on their menu.

They just listed the Fourth of July Cupcake on their menu and it is available now! This cupcake has a Red Velvet cake and is filled with cream cheese icing, and topped with buttercream and a chocolate Mickey Hat.

Our reporter said this cupcake was simple but yummy! The buttercream on top was very sweet, so if you are not a fan of really sweet things, you may want to pass on this one. It seemed to overpower the entire cupcake! The Mickey topper was made of white chocolate and was hollow inside.

If you’re a fan of cream cheese frosting, you will enjoy this one. We wish we could taste it more, or that we had the same cream cheese frosting on top instead of the buttercream. The flavor of the cream cheese went very well with the cake (it is a classic cupcake flavor combo after all), and although it wasn’t overly rich, it was still flavorful. This cupcake was good, but nothing too special for the price.

Overall this one is simple yet satisfying. Since this one is themed after the Fourth of July, it will likely not be around for long. If you want to give it a try, be sure to head over to the Contemporary Resort and pick one up for $5.99!
