Pride month is coming up and Disney has got merch on the mind.

Rainbow Collection

Yesterday, Disney’s HUGE 2021 rainbow merchandise collection arrived online and in the parks. Whether you’re snagging the Pride Collectible Key, the Pride Face Masks, or any of the other items; there are a few things you should know about the collection!

Travel journalist Deanne Revel (@revelandroam on Instagram) shared a few big FIRSTS of the collection this year. Did you know that this is the first year the Rainbow Collection includes merchandise from Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars? Typically it’s just Disney proper!

You’ll also spot a few new pieces of representation among the collection including the Transgender Pride flag, the Bisexual Pride flag, and the Lesbian Pride flag. AND the collection features the first use of the Philadelphia Pride flag with eight stripes to represent intersectional pride.

Similar to years past, Disney will donate to GLSEN (a non-profit working to create safe and inclusive schools for LGBTQ+ youth). This year, Disney is also donating to international LGBTQ+ groups including Diversity Role Models in the UK, Minus18 in Australia, BeLonG To Youth Services in Ireland, ARELAS in Spain, diversity München in Germany, Nijiiro Diversity in Japan, and It Gets Better México in Mexico.
